Just past an always-open gate is the beautiful Bluestone Park. A frequent date and picnic spot, the park is filled with lush greenery, flowers, and little romantic nooks and crannies. It is also home to the lovely Lake Bluestone, a large lake that has an almost mirror-like pureness to it and is perfect for taking a dip during those hot and muggy days.

Emily smiled as she breathed in the sweet summer morning air of Bluestone Park. Out for an early morning walk, the teenaged girl loved to be able to enjoy the tranquil park with minimal noise to bother her. After all, a little time to clear her head would be nice. Lately, it had been racing. School would be starting up in just a few days, she was one year closer to going to college... oh, and then there was the fact that when she was at the beach over the summer, she found herself checking out all the hot girls, not guys. As much as she hated to think about it, maybe she really was a lesbian. Ugh. The girl gave her head a shake, as if it would rid her mind of the thoughts, and continued on until she reached the big redwood tree at the center of the park and flopped down, letting out a sigh as her head hit the bark. Sitting in the park always tended to put her nerves at ease, even if the trees could occasionally cause head trauma.

Though the atmosphere seemed peaceful, it seemed like the day had other plans. "Come back!" A shout rang out across the park, shattering the quiet. A small brown dog with flopping ears dashed down the path, a paper hanging from it's seemingly-smiling mouth. Behind it was a girl, red faced and out of breath as she chased it down. "Come back!" she yelled again, almost stumbling on the uneven path and hopping on one foot for a few steps before regaining her balance. When she spotted Emily, her face lit up. "Don't just sit there! Help me! Catch that dog!"

With her eyes shut and back leaned against the tree, Emily could only hear the sound of pounding footsteps against pavement and grass coming from a bit further away. At her first instinct, she thought of the sounds as nothing more as a morning jogger, but as it grew closer, the sounds didn't support that, and she opened her eyes just in time to see a dog fly by and a girl hot on it's heels. Even before she was called to get up, the teenager was scurrying to her feet and running after the dog along with the girl. Thanks to the walk she had taken earlier, Emily was already warmed up and she broke into a sprint with ease, shooting past the animal's owner. Like a sheep herder, the girl had slowly (but surely) managed to corner the dog in between a bench and a trashcan. "Gotcha!" She exclaimed, wrapping her arms around the little thing while she caught her breath. The dog licked her hot face happily, tail wagging. "I got 'em..."

"Ahh!" The girl slowed to a stop, her face splitting into a smile. "Thank you!" She snatched the paper from its mouth and tried to uncrumple it, smoothing out the wrinkles against her knee. Her face fell, expression reversing in a matter of moments. "It's ruined!" She gaped in horror at the few sheets - it looked a bit like a script - before solemnly folding them and sliding the little bundle into the pocket of her electric blue shorts. She sighed, shaking her head from side to side, and reached up to scratch the little brown dog behind the ears.

"Oh, you're welcome." Emily responded, turning around when the girl caught up. However, the ever-present smile on her face fell when she took the papers the dog had in it's mouth and looked them over, proclaiming that they were ruined before tucking them away. It looked sort of like a script from the brief glance she managed to see, but she wasn't sure. What she was sure of, was that it was covered in salivation and tattered from the dogs teeth. She bit her lip. "I'm sorry about whatever got ruined. I tried to be careful..." Her voice trailed off. She probably didn't do much to help the paper when she nearly tripped and fell on the dog upon capturing him. Judging by her expression, it looked pretty important, too.

"Oh no," Lee protested, holding her hands up defensively, "That wasn't your fault at all!" The girl looked upset, she noticed, and she felt bad for mentioning the ruined paper. "I'm sure it's not completely ruined!" She hauled the sheets of paper out again, unfolding them to wave them around as proof. "See, it's only this corner that's ripped! I can probably figure out what that half of it says anyway." She held the script out to Emily triumphantly, as though it was the definitive evidence in an important court case.
